Would play, turn based games are often neat but I hate the concept of unavoidable damage. Enter things like this concept and undertale, and bam, a good time.

Cool concept anyways, for sure, and nice animation.

Fairly cool. Two main complaints

-The dialogue is a bit clunky at times (I think the lines matching words, as is mentioned to be planned, should help, but still writing a bit so-so at times). Just phrased a bit odd at times or such. Sorry this doesn't offer much advice for actual improvement though.

-The first boss felt too slow, in a lot of ways. The amount of time before it first shows up, the amount of time attacks take, the time between attacks, etc. The character's movement also feels equally slow, which proportionally is good, don't want it to be easier, the opposite, but. I'd personally speed everything up across the board, which would by extension include the time til previous fires disappeared, but only proportional to the speed new ones came out, and all that.

The whole brain thing is a really cool concept, been relatively looking forward to this since announcement and all. I'm curious to see how it's further developed as the game goes on and such. The morse was neat, most curious about that. *edit* realized the monitor has two separate things on it, with the morse stuff. Wish I was smart enough to figure that out, if it can even be, standalone.

All in all yeah, cool concept executed decently so far.

The dialogue is definitely something we're going to redo, especially somewhat in the new demo we'll be posting in about 24 hours to here, so check that out when you get the chance :) Some of the odd phrasing though is definitely intentional to show off character tics in speech, so to speak.

The boss we actually had to slow down a lot, because people were telling us most of the time that they couldn't even beat the boss because it was too fast paced :P there'll be harder bosses later on, though!

The brain stuff we have a ton of documentation and preparation already set into place for, but unfortunately we may not be able to even do any of it if we don't get enough funding, so fingers crossed for that one!

Thanks a lot for the review and rating both :)

Noticed when you die in that red place after double jump, you... lose access to the red place? The reset checkpoint is back to normal area, which does still have progression, but is that intended?

If it's meant to be a single chance thing maybe a line of dialogue to indicate you failed instead of simply being reset back the same as any death would be nice, or if it's a bug, well.

Had a bit of a grievance with the fact when you walk off an edge you lose both jumps instead of only losing your first of two, as well, but that's just personal opinion.

Touching walls or ceiling also feels pretty iffy in how it basically impairs your movement. Also maybe a design choice?

If you shoot in front of a chest the interact option goes away, leading to walking away and back in front to have interact again. Likewise, intended? Kind of annoying while (admittedly totally user error) leads to pressing the wrong button then not being able to simply follow up with the correct one while standing there.

Also if you are shooting or jumping while moving between rooms it continues to do the action while going through, which can be a tad annoying in a sfx way.

Anyways, you'll note that these are all pretty minor things (especially the last two) instead of huge flaws, but because it's mostly fairly solid of what I've played so far.

I guess outside of that maybe make the first boss a bit harder? I guess there's a bit of a balance between how you can basically only take one hit at that point, and ease of avoidance, but personally I'd maybe make the blocks spawn that spawn after the boss moves up come in faster. None of it's attacks really had much risk.

But yeah, nice work.

http://i.imgur.com/j5wYnUq.png Huh... Hana isn't from this world, is she?
But for real, initially I wasn't sure I'd like her and just sorta went with the flow, but Hana really grew on me. She's cute!
Still need to explore some other routes and such, but that one was pretty good. Just uh, a few disappearing faces, and once or twice the names were swapped between them.

Respect for Brisket

Honestly I play too much, yeah. Gotta love all the dogs. Wish he were a bit stronger though.

Oh hey, been seeing more arknights lately, or maybe just noticing it more, bit of a phase myself, lol.
